# Office Network Upgrade

Move from 1 Gbps access to 10 GbE, with 40 GbE uplinks and up to 160 Gbps aggregate capacity across four 40 Gbps links.

## Assessment

Inventory switches, NICs, copper/fibre cabling, optics, storage and application workloads. Measure current bottlenecks and agree target throughput and resilience.

## Design and deployment

Select compatible equipment; plan VLANs, routing, redundancy and link aggregation. Document configuration and rollback, arrange a maintenance window, migrate incrementally and validate performance with representative workloads.

## Capacity

160 Gbps is aggregate link capacity, not a guaranteed single workstation transfer rate. LAG hashing, NICs, storage and protocol overhead limit individual flows.
