# CWP Security Shield

Review network, web, email, and file security activity from a unified CWP dashboard.

## 1. Before installation

CWP security components, Python and systemd; verify CSF, web/mail logs and ModSecurity integrations on the target. Central licensing/peer knowledge is a separate service.

1. Record the platform/application version and select its matched release.
2. Back up configuration, application data and persistent storage; verify how to restore them.
3. Read the included installer and release notes. Use a new extraction directory, preserve existing data and arrange a maintenance window.
4. Obtain the package from IT Supportex and verify its published checksum when supplied. Do not paste licence keys or passwords into a support ticket.

## 2. Install or upgrade

These are server/application plugins, not WordPress plugins. Commands below apply only to the named release and environment.

```

Run CWP and Proxmox commands as root on the intended target. For Leantime, run the bundled installer from its extracted directory on the Docker host and replace the container placeholder. Confirm filenames exist before executing.

## 3. Configure and verify

Run health and confirm self\_test=ok and cwp-ipn service running. Configure protected/admin networks and trusted provider endpoints before automated blocking. Check Network, Web and Email ingestion and a test event. Review file verdicts before quarantining and enable automation only after validation. Verify actual firewall state instead of relying only on counters.

## 4. Upgrade and recovery

Back up /etc/cwp-ipn/config.json and required /var/lib/cwp-ipn state before upgrades. Keep restoration access available. Use the supported uninstall workflow with history retention; full purge is not a rollback.
